Panche Salon and Spa has partnered with Spanish Dutch Convoy to open a pop-up shop at our salon from April 1 through 30. They will be selling environmentally friendly up-cycled accessories including unique purses repurposed from men’s ties and carpet samples from Joyce Barrentine and RagBags as well as a line of clothing and accessories crafted by their creative team at the salon for this past St. Augustine Fashion Week. All proceeds with support the Matanzas and St. Johns Riverkeepers.

Viewings For The Earth

Panche Salon will be hosting Viewings for the Earth on April 19th: a series of three environmentally-focused films curated by Gregory von Hausch of St. Augustine Film Festival. Films will include March of the Penguins at 12 p.m., Sweetwater at 4 p.m., and Hometown Habitat at 7 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance (sold at Panache) and $10 at the door with all proceeds benefitting the Riverkeepers.

City of St. Augustine Beach Arbor Day Event

April 26th 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.

Arbor Day will be celebrated at the St. Augustine Beach City Hall on Friday, April 26. The annual event features live music, free food, nature exhibits, educational activities for kids and adults, and lots of fun.

Smokey the Bear will be on site to greet children and help share information on the importance of trees and preventing the destruction of forests. Also on hand will be Florida Fish and Wildlife, the Matanzas Riverkeeper, Audubon Birds, and the Sea Turtle Patrol. Special exhibits include a live bee hive exhibit, a touch tank with live sea creatures, butterflies, baby birds, wildlife exhibits, and much more.

The Arbor Day event is held annually to recognize the importance of trees to the ecosystem and to inspire people to plant, nurture, and celebrate trees in their own lives and backyards. For more information visit the City of St. Augustine Beach website.


Washington Oaks Earth Day Event

Washington Oaks Gardens joins in the Annual Earth Day Celebration hosted by the Friends of Washington Oaks.

Activities for the whole family will be offered, including live entertainment, prize drawings, arts and crafts vendors, and plenty of food and drink. Several environmental groups, including Matanzas Riverkeeper will be on hand to provide educational displays and talks. There is also a special children's section, along with a painting wall, games, live animal displays, and a potting project. Nature programs are ongoing throughout the day, covering such topic as butterflies, Florida-friendly landscaping, dolphins, and raptors. There will also be chance drawings, food and beverages, a photo contest, and plant sales.
